thumbs up if you think kindle made a mistake releasing kindle touch in the usa only, when the rest of us non americans want to buy it …

ah well their loss, im buying a sony prs t-1, because i need an ereader, and they haven’t given any comment on when they expect to release it in other countries.

great business logic there amazon :/

curian11 November 4, 2011 at 2:36 am

@EasternPancakes77 The ads don’t appear while you’re reading at all. It only pop up in screensaver mode or when you’re turning off the Kindle

DonPetrushka November 4, 2011 at 3:06 am

Am I the only one who didn’t like that it has only “Kindle” logo instead of classic “AmazonKindle” on it? =))

EasternPancakes77 November 4, 2011 at 3:29 am

@BeBeBaBaBuBaeBoo I totally agree! But one thing that people need to understand is that, there will NEVER be a device that EVERYONE will like. There are pros and cons, but no electronic device is perfect in every way. But I COMPLETELY agree with you. They should’ve put buttons on the side to turn the pages. They’ll probably do that on the next Kindle. I’m still gonna preorder it though :)

TheMrAbdulhaleel November 4, 2011 at 4:13 am

@jmitchener its not avalable in the UK. I have to pay $25 more for shipping

BeBeBaBaBuBaeBoo November 4, 2011 at 5:12 am

I want to buy it but I am considering about the “accidental page turning”, as we can see in the video that the touch screen page turn is very sensitive with tapping and I am not sure that I can hold it with out tabbing the screen accidentally.
It would be the best if the user can use the keyboard via touchscreen and tune the page via the side buttons.

How do you think about my opinion? Please leave me reply.

JohnnyZenith November 4, 2011 at 5:32 am

I am very annoyed this isn’t in the UK. The only Kindle I want for christsake.

jmitchener November 4, 2011 at 5:42 am

DrNGoc86 November 4, 2011 at 7:36 am

@gmjonchang
Special Offers & Sponsored Screensavers
You’ll receive special offers and sponsored screensavers directly on your Kindle Touch, including AmazonLocal deals in select cities.

Your offers display on your Kindle Touch’s screensaver (when in standby) and on the bottom of the home screen—they don’t interrupt reading.

Hy everyone!
I’m planning on buying this, however from a previous review that I saw,the guy said that it’s,”99 dollars with ads,and 139 dollars without ads” can someone please tell me what that means? Does it mean that random ads will pop up while I’m reading? Because I REALLY don’t want that to happen (and I mean REALLY don’t want that to happen) while reading. PLEASE REPLY SOON!!

pasu11 November 4, 2011 at 8:24 am

from the video, the kindle touch shows glare on the screen.

fkeopfkeop November 4, 2011 at 8:43 am

PeteyPoison November 4, 2011 at 9:12 am

@skyline44512 That was my first thought too lmao

Sonic6293 November 4, 2011 at 9:42 am

@gmjonchang I don’t think so. I heard that they were going to disable web browsing over 3G for the Kindle Touch, meaning you can only use the web browser with Wi-Fi.

More info can be found at amazon’s website at the following page: /forum/kindle?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdThread=Tx390HFZ5SRXHJ6

bloodbp November 4, 2011 at 9:44 am

Ugh his accent is so annoying!

skyline44512 November 4, 2011 at 11:20 am

@gmjonchang No you cannot. The new Kindle requires a wifi connection for web browsing, with the exception of wikipedia.

Tracy1LaiYen November 4, 2011 at 11:35 am

can one change the wkipedia searching feature for the oxford dicitonary? (and does the kindle touch have the oxford dicitonary?
