These cars also succeeded to achieve their target of competing the Mercedes-Benz CLK Class and the BMW E92 models. The Audi S5 and Audi A5 models were introduced at a time in two of the most famous automobile shows named as Melbourne International Motor Shows at Australia and Salon International De 1′ Auto at Geneva.

In the A5 model, the basic designing model was adopted from another car named as Nuvolary Quattro. When the Audi-80 based coupe model ended its production in the year 1996, A5 cleared the way of returning Audi to the mid size coupe market. The B8 A4 and A5 were debuted in Audi MLP that was under constructional plan of launching two models of upcoming generation – the A8 and A6.

The A5 raised its performance with its V6 Engine that delivered a power up to a maximum of 261 hp. It was the third coupe launched by Audi followed by the two previous generation’s models R8 and TT. A5 was well praised not only for its build quality, but also for its specific design. However, it failed to match the goodness of the BMW 3 series Coupe by the critics.
