Car Review – 2009 Audi TT
Now, I absolutely love Audi, therefore being able to drive the TT is an absolute treat to me. First off, let's take a look as the design. Although it doesn't look terribly different as you can imagine, there are some slight changes, such as the bi-xenon headlights with Audi's trademark LED daytime running lights (which are useless, but looks awesome), and larger air intakes in the front. Wider door sills and an a aggressive rear bumper incorporates the two twin exhaust outlets in the back.
The interior is well, small. I mean Audi added two seats for the back but there's no way anyone can fit properly back there unless they didn't have legs. As for the front, there is plenty of room..... for your legs. As for the rest, it comes with a nice aluminum trim, sturdy but soft leather seats, and a overall modern looking design. All of the controls are within your reach and easy to operate, except the navigation system, which I had a bit of a problem with. However, it comes with Audi's Multi-Media Interface (MMI) which gives you in display audio controls, and adds several steps to simple tasks like changing the radio station. MMI might appeal to the geeks of the world, but using buttons works better in the long run. The we have the steering wheel, which if you notice is flat on the bottom. The reason for this is without it, it would be extremely difficult to get in and out due to the tight fit.
Under the hood, the one I'm driving today comes with the 3.2-liter V6 engine that outputs 250hp and 236 ft.-lb. of torque. Fuel economy starts at 17-mpg city and 24-mpg, which isn't that bad actually. Other versions that are available is the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which outputs 200hp and 207 ft.-lb. of torque, and the top of the line TTS which has a slightly more tuned V6 engine which gives you 265hp. It also comes with Audi's variable adaptive suspension keeps the front-wheel-drive TT on the road.
Now, let's talk about how this handles when being drove. In the city is wonderful. The sport suspension is stiff, but not overdone to the point where your ass will feel like you went through a round of boxing with Danny Jacobs. It's also is very quiet surprisingly and able to accelerate well when needed. Onto the highway it takes off very nicely. Although not incredibly fast, it accelerates more than well enough to leave the people trying to follow you. Plus the sound from that 3.2-liter V6 engine is just fantastic. Now, the U.S. has a governor on these vehicles which limit them to 130mph. Although I didn't get that fast, I got close enough to start making people think I was being chased by the cops (about 120mph). Pulling off the highway and onto the country roads, it handles well under high speeds around corners. It must come with the fact when Audi designed this vehicle, they made it so it's very well balanced in the front and the rear. Along with Audi's adaptive suspension it just excellent anywhere you go.
So, overall I'll have to give this car a thumbs up in my book. However, if I were to say what my main disappointment is, it's the engine. I was expecting a little more from Audi's superior engines, especially from a V6. Why couldn't they turbocharged that decently and give it a good 300hp, along with the TTS having even more?
The one I drove today has a price tag of $37,200, but the lineup of the Audi TT's come between $35,200 - $46,540. My opinion, get one because it's a lot of fun to drive.

BMW Is Trying To Grab Elite Fleet Deal From Audi
BMW is hoping that it will be chosen over its rival Audi. To accomplish such objective the Munich-based company is currently engaging in talks with regulators to include its vehicles on the government’s shopping list said Christoph Stark, president and chief executive officer of BMW Group China in an interview with China Daily. Stark also added, "The government purchase sector is important for us and we have the confidence to enter it. We'll try to explore the possibility of more customers, such as government institutions and state-owned companies.”
Stark made such remarks after another German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz’s China-made sedans make it to the government purchasing list this month. It should be noted that it was in the year 2003 that BMW began assembling its 3 and 5 series sedans in partnership with Brilliance China Auto in northeastern city of Shenyang. Most of its buyers are private Chinese customers.
Last November, the BMW China launched its new 5 series sedans that measured 14 centimeters longer than the previous models and are specially manufactured for the China market. Such move was part of BMW’s efforts to penetrate into the government-purchase sector. BMW is not the only exploring this fast-growing segment other foreign and domestic car makers are also riding on the bandwagon. Basing on the gathered industry data, governments at all levels in China last year spent 70 billion yuan or $9 billion USD in buying vehicles.
Audi--Volkswagen’s luxury unit and recipient of quality auto components like VW spark plugs—has started its China production in the early 1990s and from then on has started dominating the fleet serving high-ranking government officials with its hot-selling A6 sedans. This has helped Audi in boosting its sales in China since elite consumers were finally been able to notice the Audi brand.
Audi’s sales in mainland China reached 80,808 units last year an increase of about 39% from 2005. On the other hand BMW’s mainland sales increase by 51 percent to 36,357 units including 22,550 locally made 3 and 5 series sedans. Mercedes-Benz’s was also able to sell 21,000 cars on mainland China and in Hong Kong last year and obtained an increase of 32%. It also started the assembling of its E-class sedans at the beginning of the year in Beijing.
According to Alfred Rupp, CEO of BMW’s venture with Brilliance said that the ventures has helped it annual production to increase capacity of up to 41,000 units from 30,000 to meet the growing demand. "We can raise capacity further by improving processes."
He also said that the venture will find 80 first-tier suppliers in China by the end of this year up from the present 50. Procurement of locally made spare parts will also be increased to 3 billion yuan from the 2 billion yuan in 2006.
Stark is also denying reports that are stating that the German car maker is searching for a second partner in China. He said, "BMW and Brilliance are satisfied with the venture's performance." The luxury car sales in China last year reach 160,000 units which is less than 4 percent of the entire nation’s passenger car sales. Analysts predict sales to increase rapidly as the number of rich buyers in China also increases. Sales of China-made vehicles have risen to 25 percent to 7.22 million units last year including the 4.2 million passenger cars.
Audi At St. Petersburg
Last Friday in the first ever appearance of the revolutionary diesel-powered sports car on a street circuit, defending champion Allan McNish headed the field for its last free practice session. He also set the pace with the 650 hp R10 TDI at the beginning before being demoted to third position by the fastest two LM P2 sports cars.
Allan McNish tries to get back to the lead unfortunately his Audi R10 TDI crashed into a wall and slightly damaging the rear of the car. Marco Werner on the other hand was a little more cautious at the wheel of the ‘sister’ Audi maintaining a gap of almost a second to pole position. After the drooling race Marco Werner has obtained the seventh position.
Here is the starting grid in St. Petersburg:
1 Dumas/Bernhard (Porsche) 1m 03.039s
2 Maassen/Briscoe (Porsche) 1m 03.189s
3 Capello/McNish (Audi R10 TDI) 1m 03.415s (1st LM P1)
4 Fernandez/Diaz (Lola-Acura/Honda) 1m 03.432s
5 Herta/Franchitti (Acura/Honda) 1m 03.746s
6 Brabham/Johansson/Dayton (Acura/Honda) 1m 03.807s
7 Pirro/Werner (Audi R10 TDI) 1m 04.139s (2nd LM P1)
8 Dyson/Smith (Porsche) 1m 04.376s
9 Wallace/Leitzinger (Porsche) 1m 04.845s
10 Lewis/McMurry/Willman (Lola) 1m 08.536s
Quotes after the qualifying
Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): "The qualifying results proved our computer calculations: On this track and with the current regulations, the LM P2 cars are just in a better position. Despite this and with a lot of effort, Allan (McNish) tried to get on to the front row. If you take maximum risk, it can happen that you spin. Fortunately there is not much damage to the car."
Dindo Capello (Audi R10 TDI #1): "It's going to be the toughest race to date for the Audi R10 TDI. Allan showed in qualifying that we have good speed and now we must try to reproduce that pace in the race for 2 hours and 45 minutes. I believe that this will be difficult for us to achieve compared to the lighter and more agile LM P2 cars. Turns 5 to 8 especially hurt our heavier car. But the times we have achieved are better than we anticipated, especially after walking the circuit yesterday."
Allan McNish (Audi R10 TDI #1): "I pushed to the absolute maximum and unfortunately pushed a little too hard resulting in me hitting the wall exiting Turn 9 after trying to carry too much speed through. Porsche had taken away my provisional pole position and I wanted it back. A good qualifying position was vital to get here and now the other battle occurs in the race. I don't know how it's going to work out for us with many different strategies being applied but we've found a good set-up for our car."
Emanuele Pirro (Audi R10 TDI #2): "The St. Petersburg event is really good and the race track very well built. Although our R10 TDI is a car which likes fast straight lines more than tight corners it's nice to share this event with the IndyCar Series. Marco did a good lap in qualifying. We have a different tyre choice than the other car. Practice time was short, so we still have to improve the set-up a little bit. But I think the condition of our car is better than our position shows in qualifying. The race is long, so I'm looking forward to it."
Marco Werner (Audi R10 TDI #2): "Things did not go too bad today. We improved from session to session -- even by a full second from the last practice to qualifying. The lap was good, the time also. But the starting position obviously is not perfect. Going into the race from seventh position means you are in the middle of the pack. It would have been nicer to start further towards the front. But more was not possible today for me. You have seen also with Allan that we are driving right on the edge."
Dave Maraj (Team Director Audi Sport North America): "Qualifying was better than I'd expected and our two Audis are closer to the Porsches than I'd predicted with the #1 Audi just three-tenth's off pole-position. As to what kind of speed the LM P2 class Porsches can run in the race compared to us we'll just have to wait and see."
Training a German Shepherd – How to Get Your Dog to Stop Barking
In general, I realized my dog will not well behaved & stop barking. Several embarrassing encounters experience in the public later, this uncontrollable barking need to stop. So something got to change for the better, so I took the initiative and went online just to quickly realized, I was not the only person with this concern. I decided to try a dog training guide online & some of the tips help me realized what are some of the reasons my German Shepherd bark so much.
German shepherd most often times will not hesitate to bark against strangers who are foreign to my dog. This behavioral nature is actually due to it's nature trying to protect & defend it's owner ensuring they are not harmed. Using some of the techniques I learn from this dog training program. I softly whisper to my dog letting him know it's okay while rubbing gently on his coat. In parallel, I also reward my dog with some of his favourite treats to provide positive reinforcement letting him know that he did good. Since, he did not do anything wrong in the first place, it was his kind but often confusion intention to protect me & my family.
In about 3 weeks my dog begin to clam down & begin to understand that employees from the utility company, UPS, FEDEX, newspaper delivery, girls scouts selling cookies are nothing to be worrying about. My dog still keep an close eye on outsiders but no longer barks even when I open the door to sign my UPS package. So does this makes my dog timid now? German Shepherd been used to protect kings, emperors, rulers since ancient times. German Shepherd are one of the most loyal & faithful dogs that behave like bodyguards. Nowadays they are widely used by law enforcers, SWAT team, US Army, Secret Service, ski patrol & etc. German shepherd are highly intelligent, fast on their feet can be easily train using the right methods.
German Shepherd are a great breed, athletic by nature they enjoy playing with you like all dogs. Once properly trained they can be extremely obedient. I always thought only properly trained professional can train dog properly. But, that also required a respectable financial investment. I was really surprise to discover that my dog can be home train using the proper methods.
All dogs at all ages can be train using the proper methods & on a continuous basis with appropriate feedback. Once your dog understand what pleases you, you can bet they will do all that they possibly could to make you happy.
